Tom Crean -Antarctic Explorer
The incredible life-story of Tom Crean (1877 – 1938), intrepid Antarctic explorer and one of Ireland’s unsung heroes will be brought to life in this dramatic and humorous one-man show, written and performed by Aidan Dooley.
Crean served with both Scott and Shackleton and was one of the few men to survive three iconic expeditions: Discovery, Terra Nova and Endurance. His story is a testament of human fortitude against the elements of Antarctic, described by historians as “the finest feat of individual heroism from the entire age of exploration”.
This multi-award winning show has now played to over a quarter of a million people worldwide, and opened Waterloo East Theatre’s first-ever season in September 2010. It now returns for a four-week season.
