New British Musicals Festival 2019 at Waterloo East Theatre

Waterloo East Theatre will host a festival of New British Musicals April 29 – May 12 2019
where it will offer a platform for any new, or works in development, of a British Musical to present their work in a showcase format, with the aim to select a musical to develop and present a run at Waterloo East Theatre in 2020.
The Remit:
The musical must be an original story or an adaptation that has not been performed in its current form at any other showcase festival.

You will need to produce the showcase yourself, or have a producer on board, and provide all the creative team and performers. Waterloo East Theatre will only provide the venue and technical support and some marketing support.
All musical pieces must be presented in a showcase or rehearsed reading format with minimum set/costumes.

There will be several slots over the two weeks from evenings of Musical Briefs, where song/script ideas in progress can be tried out, (these must be no longer 20 minutes) to 60 or 90 minutes slots where you can showcase a full ‘in development’ musical . For the longer slots you can have the option of performing for one or two nights, depending on availability.

All companies must market and promote their own shows as part of the festival and all marketing materials must display both NBMF and WET logo’s on all print/online or any social media.
The Financials in Brief:

There are no venue hire charges, or deposits.
​
Tickets must be sold for all performances, through the WET Box Office prices will range from £10 - £15. For the longer slots the Net Box Office monies being split 70/30 in favour of Waterloo East Theatre and the producing company of their production. There is no BO split for the Musical Briefs evenings with all monies going to WET to cover the running costs of those evenings.
A full set of Terms and Conditions will be sent when a show agrees to take part in the festival.
